Setup Service

Services Available

All utility services require the following items. Applications must be done in-person.

  • Valid picture ID and social cecurity card (number used for identification purposes only)
  • Proof of property ownership
    • Homeowner - act of sale
    • Home Rental - rental receipt or Lease, which bears the tenant's name, physical address, landlord / rental agent's name and telephone number
    • Mobile Home - owned and moved onto property - permit through the Planning & Zoning Department
    • Mobile Home Rental - rental receipt or lease, which bears the tenant's name, physical address, landlord / rental agent's name and telephone number
    • Commercial - Certificate of Occupancy or Certificate of Compliance (see below)

Residential Utility Services - Homeowner:

  • $30.00/$30.00 deposit per (electric/gas) service.
  • $80.00 deposit for temporary electric service / structure renovations.

Residential Utility Services - Rental:

  • $50.00/$50.00 deposit per (electric/gas) service.

Residental Utility Services - Mobile Home/Travel Trailer:

  • If mobile home is owned and being moved onto a property, a permit shall be required by way of the TPCG Planning and Zoning Department (located in Government Tower at 8026 Main Street – Suite 401 – Tel. #985-873-6567):
    • $50.00/$50.00 deposit per (electric/gas) service.
    • Mobile homes that are moved onto any property warrants an inspection by the TPCG Planning and Zoning Department before service is connected.
    • Proof of residency must indicate the property renter, not the mobile home renter unless they are the same.
  • If moving a travel trailer onto a property, a permit shall be required by way of the TPCG Planning and Zoning Department (located in Government Tower at 8026 Main Street – Suite 401 – Tel. #985-873-6567):
    • $50.00/$50.00 deposit per (electric/gas) service.
    • Travel trailers that are moved onto any property warrants an inspection by the TPCG Planning and Zoning Department before service is connected.
  • If you are moving into a mobile home on an existing property:
    • $50.00/$50.00 deposit per (electric/gas) service.

Commercial Utility Services:

  • Must obtain a Certificate of Occupancy (inside city limits) or a Certificate of Compliance (outside the city limits) from the TPCG Planning and Zoning Department (located in Government Tower at 8026 Main Street – Suite 401 – Tel. #985-873-6567).
  • $50.00/$50.00 deposit per (electric/gas) service.
  • An inspection is mandatory by the TPCG Planning and Zoning Department before any service is established.

If someone other than the business owner seeks a utility billing contract on behalf of the employer/company, a written authorization to act on company stationary is required. The document should include the company's federal tax ID. Remember to bring a valid picture ID in-person to initiate the process.
