In order to help prevent the spread of coronavirus in Terrebonne Parish, a Parish-wide curfew has been jointly implemented by Terrebonne Parish President Gordon Dove, Terrebonne Parish Sheriff Jerry Larpenter and Houma Police Chief Dana Coleman, beginning April 1, 2020, from 10PM till 5AM and will remain in effect daily until further notice.
Flooding is the second most prevalent hazard event type recorded by the National Climactic Data Center (NCDC) in Terrebonne Parish. In the last 50 years, the NCDC recorded 23 flood events. The parish experiences stormwater, storm surge, riverine, and backwater flooding.
