You are entering an Official Terrebonne Parish Consolidated Government System, (TPCG) which may be used only for authorized purposes. The Government may monitor and audit usage of this system, and all persons are hereby notified that use of this system constitutes consent to such monitoring and auditing. Unauthorized attempts to upload information and/or change information on these web sites are strictly prohibited and are subject to prosecution under the Computer Fraud and Abuse Act of 1986.

Privacy Statement

Thank you for visiting Terrebonne Parish - City of Houma web site. The Consolidated Government is committed to protecting the privacy rights of taxpayers. These rights are ensured through the Privacy Act, and other federal statutes, and TPCG policies and practices. We will not collect personal information about you just because you visit this site. In order to improve the usefulness of our web site for our visitors, we automatically collect and maintain statistical information from our site's data logs that concern network traffic flow and volume. This information consists of:

  • the name of the domain from which the visitor accesses the Internet (i.e. company.com, school.edu, or agency.gov)
  • the type of browser (i.e. Internet Explorer, Safari, Chrome, Opera, etc) and operating system of the visitor's computer
  • the web pages accessed on our site
  • the Internet Protocol Number; and the date and time the TPCG web site is visited.  This information does not identify individual visitors. It is retained for a minimum of 90 days

TPCG does use "cookies," a file placed on a visitor's hard drive that allows the web site to monitor the individual's use of this site. This is for the purpose of identifying popular areas on the web site so that we can make the web site more useful. No attempts are made to identify individual users unless illegal behavior is suspected. We also monitor network traffic to identify unauthorized attempts to upload or change information or otherwise cause damage to the web service. We focus on web site security so that this service remains available to you and other visitors.

Pursuant to the provisions of 47 U.S.C. 230, Terrebonne Parish Consolidated Government reserves the right to remove material posted by third parties that are deemed objectionable. We, furthermore, are not responsible for any material posted by third parties on our or other websites. We disclaim any and all liabilities for any claims or damages from any postings by third parties.

Please be aware that the confidentiality of Internet transmissions is not guaranteed. Sec. 1-18. - Terrebonne Parish official seal.

(a) Adoption and description of official seal. The official seal of the Terrebonne Parish Consolidated Government as adopted shall consist of a circular cartouche with the word "Terrebonne" written on the upper inside portion of the circle and the word "Parish" written on the lower inside portion of the circle. The center of the seal shall always consist of the outline of the parish of Terrebonne which contains depictions of an oil well, a sugar cane farmer and a shrimp boat. Within the top of the outline of the parish are the words "The Good Earth". A banner with the words "established 1822" runs across the bottom of the outline of Terrebonne Parish. Within the circle, the word "Houma" is printed to the lower left-hand 2 side of the outline of Terrebonne Parish and the abbreviation "LA." is printed on the lower right-hand side of the outline of Terrebonne Parish.

(b) Use of official seal. Use of the official seal of the Terrebonne Parish Consolidated Government shall require the written consent of the Parish President or his duly authorized Parish Manager.

(c) Penalties. Any person who violates the provisions of this Section shall be fined not more than five hundred dollars ($500.00) for each violation. (Ord. No. 6429, § 1, 6-13-01)
