Terrebonne Parish President Michel Claudet has been invited to and will participate in a conference call with several cabinet level U.S. Government officials in regards to the BP Deepwater Horizon Oil Spill.
Representing President Barack Obama on the call will be Secretary Janet Napolitano - U.S. Department of Homeland Security, Secretary Ken Salazar - U.S. Department of Interior, Administrator Lisa Jackson - Environmental Protection Agency and Director Carol Browner - White House Office of Energy and Climate Change Policy.
“I look forward to hearing the most up to date information on the federal response and particularly am interested in the plan for the coming days and weeks,” stated President Claudet.
The call will take place today, Friday, April 30, 2010, at 12:00 p.m. CDT.
Terrebonne Parish residents are urged to remain vigilant in their monitoring of the oil spill and the ongoing cleanup efforts. Pertinent information in regards to the spills can be located on the Terrebonne Parish Consolidated Government website at www.tpcg.org.
