Keep Louisiana Beautiful Hosts an Environmental Education Workshop Sat., Mar. 16

Keep Louisiana Beautiful is partnering up with Keep Terrebonne Beautiful to host an environmental education workshop presented by Rocksey's Environmental Education program for Kindergarten to 5th grade teachers from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday, March 16, 2019, at the North Branch Library, 4130 West Park Ave. in Gray.

This free workshop will introduce teachers to a new environmental education program aligned with the newly approved math and science student standards. Topics include: defining litter, a timeline of trash, litter decomposition, watershed, clean water, effects on wildlife, plastics pollution, reducing, reusing, recycling, and civic responsibility.

The goal of this program is to teach young people the importance of caring for, respecting, and loving our communities to bring a permanent change in the appearance of Louisiana.

Space is limited to 30 teachers and pre-registration is required. Teachers attending the full workshop will receive a $50 stipend, CLU credits, a curriculum manual, and tote bag.
