Paddle Down Da Bayou Scheduled for Saturday, Apr. 6

Paddle Down da Bayou, the annual 5-mile paddling trip benefiting Terrebonne Advocates for Possibilities, is scheduled for 9 a.m. on Saturday, April 6, 2019. Paddlers will launch from the LLMAP Camp, 6090 Hwy 56 in Chauvin. The event includes light breakfast snacks before launching, a stop at the Chauvin Sculpture Garden during the paddle trip, and a post-paddle celebration at the Little Caillou Volunteer Fire Station, including lunch, music, and kids' activities. Paddlers should arrive to the launch site by 8:15 a.m. to pick up registration packets.
Paddlers may paddle pirogues, canoes, kayaks, paddle boards, or any other non-motorized small boat. All paddlers must wear life jackets.
The cost to participate is $30 for adults 18+ and $20 for ages 8-17. Children 7 and under can paddle for free with a participating parent and have the option to purchase a t-shirt ($10) and a meal ($5). A limited number of kayaks are available to rent for $15.
Preregistration ends on March 22. You must preregister to rent a kayak and be guaranteed a t-shirt. Click here to register online or download a registration form.
