Emergency Declarations Respond to Spring Flood Threat

Thursday May 30, 2019 01:21 pm - 4171 Views - Posted By Office of Homeland Security & Emergency Preparedness

Parish President Gordon E. Dove issued an emergency declaration in February in response to the developing threat of high water and flooding from the Mississippi and Atchafalaya Rivers due to heavy spring rainfall.

The intended purpose of the declaration is primarily precautionary, as it assists in the expedited marshaling of resources needed to respond to this weather event.
