TPLS to Host Fall RELIC Series Sept. 16 to Oct. 21

Readings in Literature and Culture (RELIC) will be back this fall at the Terrebonne Parish Main Library. The discussion series will start on September 16 at 1 p.m. and last until October 21.

Guest lecturer Miki Pfeffer will host the program. Pfeffer is the author of Southern Ladies and Suffragists and is an independent researcher and historian. She has led the discussion series in the past and has also presented several times at the Jambalaya Writer's Conference. 

The theme for this season's series will be "Brass on the Bayou: A History of New Orleans Jazz". 

Books are as follows:

  • Louis Armstrong's New Orleans by Thomas Brothers
  • New Orleans Piano Styles by Todd Lowry,
  • Up from the Cradle by Jason Berry and Jonathon Folse.
