In order to help prevent the spread of coronavirus in Terrebonne Parish, a Parish-wide curfew has been jointly implemented by Terrebonne Parish President Gordon Dove, Terrebonne Parish Sheriff Jerry Larpenter, and Houma Police Chief Dana Coleman, beginning April 1, 2020, from 10PM till 5AM and will remain in effect daily until further notice.
Chauvin Culture and Heritage Festival to be Held October 5-6

The 10th annual Chauvin Culture and Heritage Festival will take place on Saturday, October 5, 2019, from 10 a.m. to 11 p.m. and on Sunday, October 6, 2019, from 11 a.m. to 10:30 p.m. at the American Legion, 4990 Highway 56.
This event will feature a jambalaya cook-off, pirogue race, Blessing of the Fleet, craft show, Halloween Trick or Treating and Costume Contest, live music, and much more.
This is a free, family-friendly event. All proceeds will go to the Terrebonne Advocates for Possibility, which aims to ensure the survival of Chauvin's living heritage and to support arts, cuisine, and culture.
