See What Your Local Library Has to Offer This March

Visit your local library this month. Exciting activities are scheduled at each library branch all month. Check out the list below for a few highlights from each location.

Bourg Library

  • Thursday, March 12, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Adult Crafting Day (Adults may bring whatever handy craft they would like to work on.)
  • Tuesday, March 17, 3 to 4 p.m. Leprechaun Craft Workshop. Pre-K - 4th Grade.
  • Wednesday, March 18, 4 to 5 p.m. Mason Jar Lid Sun Catchers - 5th-12th grade.

Chauvin Library 

  • Monday, March 2, 4 to 5 p.m. Dr. Seuss Birthday Celebration. Kids will decorate cupcakes.
  • Thursday, March 5, 1 to 4 p.m. Crochet Fun!
  • Tuesday, March 17, 3:30 to 4:30 p.m. Plastic Spoon Spring Flower.

Dulac Library

  • Wednesday, March 11, 4 to 5 p.m. STEM Challenge: Pi in Real Life! Celebrate Pi Day by experimenting with circle measurements.
  • Monday, March 16, 1 to 2 p.m. Giant Spring Wreath.
  • Tuesday, March 24, 4 to 5 p.m. DIY Fringe Earrings.

Dularge Library

  • Monday, March 9, 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Eager Readers Book Discussion. ("Mrs. Lincoln's Dressmaker" By: Jennifer Chaverine).
  • Tuesday, March 10, 4:15 to 5:15 p.m. "I Care" Program for PreK Students. (Book: "Ten, Nine, Eight" by Molly Bang).
  • Tuesday, March 17, 4:15 to 5:15 p.m. St. Patrick's Day Story/Craft Time.

East Houma Library

  • Tuesdays, 10 to 11 a.m. Adult Yoga.
  • Saturday, March 14, 3 to 4 p.m. Women's History Month: Women inventors, fun facts, and ice cream making. (All ages).
  • Saturday, March 28, 3 to 4 p.m. Spring "Spoon" Craft. (All Ages.)

Gibson Library

  • Tuesday, March 17, 2 to 2:30 p.m. 4-Leaf Clover Craft.
  • Wednesday, March 18, 4 to 5 p.m. Duct Tape Pencil Pouch Craft - Registration Required.
  • Tuesday, March 24, 12:30 p.m. Spring Picture Painting Class - Refreshments Served.

Main Library

  • Monday, March 2, 4 to 5 p.m. Dr. Seuss' Birthday Party. Join us for a special story time, crafts, and treats celebrating one of our favorite writers.
  • Sunday, March 8, 3 to 4 p.m. Escape the Library for 4th grade and up. Work together as a team to solve clues and unlock the mystery before the time runs out. (Registration is required.)
  • Saturday, March 14, 7:30 am. to 6 p.m. The 17th Annual Jambalaya Writers' Conference. Writers across all genres will guide both new and practiced writers in their craft. Featuring keynote presenter Lisa Gardner, Caroline Kepnes, author of "You" and "Hidden Bodies," romance authors Carolyn Brown, Laura Drake, and Sable Hunter, novelists Maurice Carlos Ruffin, Samantha Downing, Alys Arden, children's author Marti Dumas, and many more!

Montegut Library 

  • Wednesday, March 11, 4 to 5 p.m. Spring Planting.
  • Monday, March 16, 4 to 5 p.m. Lucky Slime.
  • Monday, March 30, 4 to 5 p.m. S.T.E.M. Afternoon.

North Library

  • Wednesdays, 6 to 7 p.m. Resume Connection Class: Learn how to complete a resume, fill out an application, and get helpful hints on what to do at a job interview.
  • Saturday, March 28, 3 to 4 p.m. Marbled Shamrocks Activity.
  • Monday, March 30, 6 to 7 p.m. Microsoft Word Class.
