U.S. Census opening 'Assistance Centers'

Terrebonne Parish residents will be receiving their 2010 Census forms in the next few weeks.
They are urged to complete the form and return it immediately. April 1, 2010 is the last day to receive the forms or a field representative will visit you at your home to complete the form. For those needing help to complete the form, the U.S. Census is opening "Assistance Centers" beginning Monday, March 8, 2010. Locations are:

  • Bayou Blue: Bayou Blue Library, 198 Mazerac Street, Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 12:30 to 4;30 p.m. and Tuesday and Thursdays from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
  • Dularge: Dularge Library, 837 Bayou Dularge Road, Monday-Friday from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
  • Dulac: Dulac Community Center, 125 Coast guard Road, Monday-Friday from 10:00 a.m. to 12:45 p.m.
  • Grand Caillou: Grand Caillou Recreation Center: 106 Badou Drive, Monday-Friday from 1:30 p.m. to 4;15 p.m.
  • Chauvin: Chauvin Library, 5500 Hwy. 56, Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. and Tuesday and Thursday from 2:p.m. to 6:00 p.m.
  • Montegut: Montegut Library, 1135 Hwy. 55, Monday – Friday from 10:a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
Anyone may get assistance from a U.S. Census representative at these locations and times. There is also assistance available in different languages. The important issue is to MAIL it BACK immediately. Anyone needing assistance is urged to go to one of the centers as soon as they receive the form in the mail. ### To review press release in its entirety, click here.
