Terrebonne Parish Main Library to Host Woman's Suffrage Exhibit

The Terrebonne Parish Main Library will display "Determined to Rise: The Woman's Suffrage Movement in Louisiana," a travelling exhibit developed by the Centennial Women's Suffrage Project at Southeastern Louisiana Endowment for the Humanities.

"Determined to Rise" celebrates the women's suffrage movement in Louisiana in honor of the 100th anniversary of the ratification of the 19th amendment. The exhibit includes eight panels that depict photos of Louisiana suffragists, a timeline of events, the African-American women's perspective, and more. A TCV is on display to share videos and panel discussions on the suffrage movement. Also included is a guest book for patron reflections and a suffragette costume and mannequin.

The exhibit will be on display at the Main Library, 151 Library Drive, from January 5 to January 15, 2021.
