National Weather Service Update - Possible Severe Weather for Wednesday, October 27

Update from the National Weather Service in New Orleans regarding the possibility of severe weather and heavy rainfall on Wednesday, October 27, 2021.

Overview:
SLIGHT RISK of Severe Weather and MARGINAL RISK of Flooding rainfall.

When:
Both risk levels will be mainly during the daylight hours Wednesday but some of this activity could linger into Wednesday evening before pushing east.

Where:
All of SELA and southern Mississippi.

Confidence:
Moderate confidence for severe thunderstorms and heavy rainfall.

Impacts:
The main threats associated with any severe storm will be:

  • Strong damaging winds
  • Isolated tornadoes
  • Rainfall totals up to 2 inches possible with isolated higher amounts
