Mariners are advised that starting January 19, 2022 through February 16, 2022, there will be a temporary change to the operating schedule of the LA-316 Bayou Blue Pontoon Bridge, which crosses the Gulf Intracoastal Waterway (GIWW) at MM 49.8 WHL. The modified bridge operating schedule will facilitate necessary LA-DOTD maintenance and repair work.

Bridge operations will be temporarily modified as noted below:

• The bridge will not be open to vessel traffic from 6:30 a.m. – 7:30 a.m. and from 4:30 p.m. – 5:30 p.m. each day starting January 19, 2022 through February 16, 2022.
• The bridge will open to vessels during emergencies and at the direction of the Coast Guard.

All mariners are advised to conduct appropriate voyage planning when transiting the GIWW. Any additional concerns regarding the modified bridge operating schedule should be directed to Marine Safety Unit Houma using one of the phone numbers below.
