Parish Government Seeks Ideas to Promote Tourism

Thursday December 16, 2010 03:26 pm - 2456 Views - Posted By Administration

It was recently announced that Terrebonne Parish will receive funds as a result of the recent Gulf of Mexico oil spill to promote and market tourism related activities in the parish. In preparation of receiving these funds, Terrebonne Parish Consolidated Government is seeking ideas from residents on how best to promote the many great attractions that draw visitors to our community. Possible use of these funds may include marketing, advertising, tourism related support, charter and recreational fishing support, nature based tourism, fairs and festivals, and grants to parish-selected projects. Those wishing to submit ideas can contact Doug Bourg with the Parish President’s office at (985) 873-6401 or email tpcgpresident@tpcg.org. “We have a tremendous opportunity to use these funds to showcase the many things that make our parish a great destination,” said Parish President Michel Claudet. “In my opinion, no one knows our area better and how best to market it than the residents of Terrebonne Parish,” added President Claudet. # # #
