Temporary Housing Assistance

Wednesday October 22, 2008 08:43 am - 2977 Views

All individuals who need temporary housing assistance MUST register AS SOON AS POSSIBLE. Arrangements are being made NOW by Terrebonne Parish Government and FEMA to provide this temporary housing assistance IMMEDIATELY and we need to know exactly how many individuals require this temporary housing. Those individuals who have registered will be receiving the first assistance. It is our concern that records do not reflect an accurate number of registrants compared to the numbers received from the Fema registrations and the inspections completed. To assure that your registration has been received and you are on the list to receive this temporary housing immediately, please contact BOTH FEMA @ 1-800-621-FEMA ((3362) AND The Office of Emergency Preparedness at 873-6357. There are also two on-site registration stations: (1) Town Hall, Barrow Street in Houma and (2) Grand Caillou Recreation Center. We do not want to leave anyone out. We want to assure that you are able to receive this assistance as soon as possible. Also, it is important to stress that if you need assistance for both storms that you must register for both storms individually, (1) Gustav and (2) Ike. Although registration has been extended, do not wait. To receive your temporary housing in the next few weeks get your name on the list NOW. Gustav registration for INDIVIDUAL assistance is extended to November 14, 2008 and Ike until November 26, 2008. For further information you may call 1-800-621-FEMA or the Office of Emergency Preparedness 873-6357. Speech or hearing impaired callers can use the TTY number 1-800-462-7585 . When registering, applicants will need to provide the following information: · Name and Social Security number · Address of the damaged property · Current address and telephone number · Insurance Information · Total household annual income · A bank routing and account number for direct deposit · A description of your losses caused by the disaster
