Present for his “swearing in” as the newly elected councilman for District 6, was Kevin Voisin’s entire family; including his wife, Emily, children, Huntie, Michael and Elle, his parents and grandparents and others. This brief ceremony took place in the Terrebonne Parish Council meeting room at 11:00 a.m. January 5, 2009.
Councilman Voisin stated that he is anxious to begin learning from the other members of the council. He said that he looks forward to working for his constituents and to be a part of the progress of Terrebonne Parish. Mr. Voisin is an eighth generation oyster farmer of Terrebonne Parish. He has always been an inspiration to others and has been a steward of kindness in the community. After Hurricanes Gustav and Ike, Kevin was instrumental in getting over 1,000 volunteers from throughout the United States to gather together in Houma and help the residents with clean up efforts and other much needed assistance.
