About the 2013 Super Bowl Host Committee The mission of the 2013 New Orleans Super Bowl XLVII Host Committee is to raise all funding necessary to fulfill the obligations of New Orleans’ bid to the NFL and to operationally execute those obligations. The Host Committee, as defined by the NFL, manages local volunteers and serves as the city’s ambassador to the incoming teams, their fans and media. The Committee is comprised of local leaders with a passion for football and New Orleans. About the Terrebonne Parish Tree Board -- "Planting Trees for Tomorrow, Preserving Trees for Today" The Terrebonne Parish Tree Board was formed by ordinance of the Terrebonne Parish Consolidated Government in Jan 2005. At the same time the TPCG put into place the current tree ordinance to preserve and protect existing healthy trees on public lands. This ordinance was amended in January 2007 and furthered the promotion of trees as enhancing air quality by reducing air pollution, noise and water pollution. It also serves to emphasize, for the benefit of the community, an understanding of the value of trees as an important economic and environment asset, as well as a positive image of a caring community. Each year near Arbor Day, the Terrebonne Parish Tree Board partners with various companies and organizations to sponsor a tree give-away to encourage the planting of trees on privately owned land. The Terrebonne Parish Tree Board is excited this year to be able to offer more seedlings and container trees through the generosity of our partners. We look forward to our annual tree give-away in honor of Arbor Day knowing that our community is improved environmentally and aesthetically with each tree planted.
