Parish Celebrates Opening Of St. Ann Bridge

Terrebonne Parish President Michel Claudet is proud to announce the completion and opening of the newly reconstructed St. Anne Bridge over Bayou Terrebonne in Bourg. This new two lane steel swing span bridge connects LA Highway 24 and Country Drive, and replaces a single lane bridge at this location. Motorist will notice a difference as the original single lane bridge, constructed in 1964, was only 14-foot wide, and the new bridge has two lanes measuring 12-foot each. The new bridge also has two 3-foot shoulders. This project was overseen by the Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (DOTD) with Coastal Bridge Company working as the project’s contractor. Total construction costs for this project are estimated to be $4.2 million. Notice to proceed for this project was given to the contractor on October 11, 2011. “The completion of the new St. Anne Bridge will certainly improve traffic flow for everyone in Bourg,” said Terrebonne Parish President Michel Claudet. “We would like to thank the residents of Bourg and the surrounding area for their patience as this very important project was constructed,” added President Claudet.
