URGENT REQUEST TO CONSERVE ELECTRICITY USAGE

Wednesday January 17, 2018 04:51 am - 2737 Views - Posted By Office of Homeland Security & Emergency Preparedness

The Terrebonne Parish Consolidated Government has just been notified by the Louisiana Energy and Power Authority (LEPA) that the regional area is experiencing a major power shortage due to the increase in power usage because of the the winter weather conditions.

Terrebonne Parish Utilities and LEPA are requesting residents to conserve electrical power to prevent rolling blackouts in our area.

The best way to conserve energy is to lower your heating thermostat two (2) or more degrees in your home or business.

Other ways to conserve energy is to turn off any unnecessary appliances and unplug any unnecessary electrical devices.

Your assistance with this urgent request is greatly appreciated. Conservation of electricity may be required for the next couple of days due to the extreme low temperatures we will experience in our area.
