Dulac Branch Library to Conduct Community History Project throughout February 2018

Throughout February, the Dulac Branch Library is conducting a Community History Project, assembling past stories and pictures from the Grand Caillou and Dulac areas of Terrebonne Parish into a shared local history.

The library’s goal is to preserve this history for the benefit of the local community, and in March, the library plans to highlight its findings by presenting the gathered stories and photos back to the community as a collection. The collection will be made available at the Dulac Branch afterward. The library currently houses a growing display of the pictures it has so far that is available to the public.

The library is seeking anyone who has (or knows someone who has) a story or photos of past life in the Grand Caillou and Dulac areas to contribute to the history project. At 11:30 am every Wednesday in February, people may come in to have their stories recorded, whether telling the story alone or even while talking with a friend.

People with photos can come in anytime to have the library scan a copy for the project, and social media users can contribute by simply posting their photos and tagging the library.

For more information about the project or how you can contribute, call the Dulac Branch Library at 985-563-2014 or email the library by using the form in the following link:
