CDBG Funding Public Hearing

Gustav/Ike Recovery Draft Application Plan, Community Development Block Grant Funding Public Hearing: The Terrebonne Parish Consolidated Government, Department of Planning and Zoning has received notice that Terrebonne Parish will receive at least $67,000,000 in Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) funding to assist in rebuilding the parish after the hurricanes and $10,000,000 specifically for affordable rental housing in the Parish. There will be a second round of funding in the future that could be as much as $55,000,000. The Parish is required to develop a plan for spending these funds. The plan will be presented to the Council for approval on May 13th, 2009.

Terrebonne Parish Consolidated Government encourages the participation of minorities, non-English speaking persons, the disabled, low-income persons, the elderly, residents of public housing developments, community-based organizations, and all others. Those persons who wish to participate but may be hindered by disabilities or who are non-English speaking are urged to notify the Planning and Zoning Department at least three days in advance of the meeting so that special arrangements can be made. A TDD device is available for the hearing impaired. Citizens wishing to participate that are unable to attend the hearing may submit written correspondence via e-mail or U.S. Postal Service to the addresses listed above.
