TPLS to Host Spring RELIC Series Starting April 30, 2018 **UPDATED**

RELIC: Readings in Literature and Culture will be back this spring at the Terrebonne Parish Main Library. The discussion series will start on April 30 at 1:00 PM and last until June 11.

RELIC is a bi-annual adult history and literature course that typically spans a period of six sessions in the fall and in the spring. Guest lecturer Miki Pfeffer, now in her second season of RELIC, will host the program this spring. Pfeffer is the author of "Southern Ladies and Suffragists" and is an independent researcher and historian.

The theme for this season’s RELIC will be “200 Years of New Orleans Literature,” based on the collection of the same name by Nancy Dixon. Literary works from writers who were from New Orleans, lived in New Orleans, or were influenced in some way by the South will be featured. The first meeting will focus on the works of O. Henry, Walt Whitman, and William Faulkner.

Readings will be available for pick up at the front desk of the Main Library. RELIC is sponsored by the Friends of the Terrebonne Public Library and is free and open to the public.
