In order to help prevent the spread of coronavirus in Terrebonne Parish, a Parish-wide curfew has been jointly implemented by Terrebonne Parish President Gordon Dove, Terrebonne Parish Sheriff Jerry Larpenter, and Houma Police Chief Dana Coleman, beginning April 1, 2020, from 10PM till 5AM and will remain in effect daily until further notice.
Terrebonne Parish Department of Public Safety serves a vital role in the community by providing and coordinating lifesaving services. These include response to fires, police protection, special operations and emergency management.

Criminal Justice Complex
The Terrebonne Parish Criminal Justice Complex is a modern, state-of-the-art facility located in Ashland and staffed by the Sheriff's Office.
The Terrebonne Parish Juvenile Detention Center is established to provide short-term care in the secured custody of juveniles who are accused, adjudicated pending court action, awaiting transfer to another facility, and who cannot be served in an open setting.
