The Zoning Department oversees the implementation, enforcement and amendments to the Parish zoning regulations. These laws specify whether property can be used for residential, commercial or industrial purposes, and also regulate placement, bulk, and height of structures.
Our zoning regulations describe not only the acceptable use for specified areas of land, but also the procedures for handling infractions (including any penalties), granting variances and hearing appeals.
The zoning regulations can be found in Chapter 28 of the Terrebonne Parish Code of Ordinances. These laws are unrelated to flood zone or flood zone maps.
