Controlled Burn Notice
The Louisiana Oil Spill Coordinator's Office and the U.S. Coast Guard has notified TPCG that a controlled burn of an oil spill in the Lake Hatch Oil and Gas Field will be conducted at 9 AM this morning. The controlled burn is necessary to prevent further adverse impacts of the marsh sedimentation and root structures that may be caused by manual oil recovery operations. The controlled burn will last approximately 4 hours and may produce a large black plume of smoke that will travel to the southwest and west of the oil spill. This should not affect residential houses.
