Boil Water Advisory Issued for Areas South of Presque Isle
A boil water advisory has been issued for customers below Presque Isle along Hwy. 24, Hwy. 55, Hwy. 56, Klondyke Road, and Sarah Road including the communities of Grand Bois, Bourg, Montegut, Chauvin, Little Caillou, and Cocodrie. See the attached map of the affected area.
It is recommended that those in this area disinfect their water before consuming it (including fountain drinks), making ice, brushing teeth, or using it for food preparation, or rinsing of foods.
To disinfect water, boil for one full minute in a clean container. The one minute does not start until the water has been brought to a rolling boil. If the water has a flat taste, it can be eliminated by shaking the water in a clean bottle, pouring it from one clean container to another, or by adding a small pinch of salt to each quart of water.
Please continue to disinfect water until you have been advised it is safe to stop.
