
10th Annual Celebrating Abilities Disability Awareness Powwow set for March 17 and 18
The 10th annual Celebrating Abilities Disability Awareness Powwow is set for 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. Saturday, March 17 and 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday, March 18, 2018, at the Houma Airbase Pavilion, 221 Moffet Road.
The powwow is sponsored by United Houma Nation Vocational Rehabilitation Services and is open to everyone. Admission is free.
The project powwow schedule is as follows:

11 a.m. Gourd session
1 p.m. Grand entry
3 p.m. Gerry Behan Memorial Special
4 p.m. Break
5 p.m. Dinner provided for staff, dancers, and vendors
5:30 p.m. Gourd session
7 p.m. Grand entry
8 p.m. $10,000 raffle drawing
10 p.m. Closing

12 p.m. Flute with Frank Chaisson
12:30 p.m. Grand entry
1 p.m. Hand-stitched star quilt raffle drawing

Raffle tickets can be purchased at the Houma Tribal Office, 991 Grand Caillou Road. Tickets for the $10,000 raffle are $100 each, and tickets for the quilt raffle are $5 each.
Drugs and alcohol are not tolerated at this event.
