To create awareness about heart disease prevention, CIS is hosting a free electrocardiogram (EKG) screening.
An EKG is a painless test that records the electrical signals of the heart. The screening can detect blockages, the thickness of the heart wall, past heart attacks and more. Screening results will be reviewed onsite, and CIS providers will be providing personal health risk assessments as well as heart-healthy educational presentations. The event will also include various smoking cessation education presentations.
Risk factors of cardiovascular disease include family history of heart disease, high cholesterol, high blood pressure and diabetes, as well as smoking, being overweight or being inactive.
Call CIS at 985-873-5058 or click the click below to register for the screening.
