Parkwood 8-Step Determination Open for Public Comment Until October 1, 2024

Terrebonne Parish Consolidated Government in partnership with Leaaf Environmental is conducting an environmental review of 48 lots in Parkwood Subdivision on East Street, Houma, LA 70363. Part of this environmental process is to determine whether the proposed project is in a floodplain. If the proposed project is in a floodplain, the review requires an 8-Step process to determine if there are viable alternatives to development on that site. During this process, it was determined that the proposed project in the Parkwood Subdivision was in a floodplain; however, it has no viable alternative. The proposed project will take the necessary mitigation measures to ensure minimum adverse impacts on the area.

Terrebonne Parish Consolidated Government encourages the participation of all citizens, particularly those who are low-income, disabled, minority, non-English speaking; and those who live in substandard housing or blighted neighborhoods.
