The Terrebonne Parish Economic Development Authority (TEDA) and the Terrebonne Parish Consolidated Government will host a seminar relating to emergency preparedness for businesses from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. April 19 at the Civic Center. Earl Eues, Director of Terrebonne Parish Office of Homeland Security and Emergency Preparedness, will facilitate the seminar. There will be representatives from the Governor’s Office of Homeland Security and Emergency Preparedness (GOHSEP) and the State Business Emergency Operations Center operated by the Stephenson Disaster Management Institute at LSU. Information provided will include preparing businesses for emergencies and the re-entry procedures to the Parish following an emergency. In addition, a questions and answers session will address any other businesses’ concerns. Since 1960, the population in Terrebonne Parish has increased by 78 percent. The preparations necessary for a hurricane or other emergency are considerably more complex due to this fact alone. The seminar is a public service offered by TEDA and TPCG to assist the business community in preparing for such an event. Please contact TEDA at 985-873-6890 or the Terrebonne Parish Office of Homeland Security and Emergency Preparedness for more information. ###
