Parish Officials Continue to Monitor Conditions in Gulf of Mexico
Terrebonne Parish Consolidated Government is continuing to monitor conditions as a result of Tropical Storm Isaac in the Gulf of Mexico. Residents are encouraged to remain vigilant and to tune in to their local media outlets for the latest information.
Accordingly, there has been a partial activation of the parish’s
Emergency Operations Center; however, no emergency declaration has been filed at this time. No evacuations have been ordered and emergencies shelters have not been opened. There have been no evacuations of health care facilities in the parish; however, one nursing home is moving patients to a location in the city of
Plaquemine near Baton Rouge.
At this time no decision has been made on the closing of schools in Terrebonne.
Sand and sandbags will be available at the following locations by Sunday evening.
