From Terrebonne to "Oklahoma Shelter in a Box" with Love

If your loved ones were evacuated to the Monroe Civic Center for Hurricane Ida, you may have been concerned about their care.  Please know that they were very well cared for by all the folks associated with "Oklahoma Shelter in a Box," the organization operating the shelter for us. As one person working at the Monroe shelter put it, "These guys from Oklahoma, have been nothing short of amazing!"

Even those members of the Oklahoma State Police who are helping out at this facility have been quick to interact with our residents. They have pitched in to babysit to give a single mom a little break, to hug and carry little children, and to comfort the grieving. Truly amazing human beings.

"Thank you" seems so inadequate for all you have done for the people of Terrebonne Parish.  That’s all we can say right now, but you will not be forgotten.  You are a credit to the State of Oklahoma.

You personify "neighbor helping neighbor."
