Information on Upcoming 2024 Spring Elections

The Presidential Preference Primary Election will be held March 23, 2024. This is a closed election open only to registered Republicans and Democrats.

Voter Registration Deadline (in person or by mail) February 21
Voter Registration Deadline (online at geauxvote.com) March 2
Early Voting (at ROV office)  March 9 to March 16
(Hours: 8:30 a.m. to 6 p.m.; closed Sundays)                                            
Election Day Hours (polls open/close) 7 a.m. to 8 p.m.

The Village East Fire Prop Election will be held April 27, 2024.

Voter Registration Deadline (online at geauxvote.com) April 4
Early Voting (at ROV office)  April 13 to April 20
(Hours: 8:30 a.m. to 6 p.m.; closed Sundays)                                            
Election Day Hours (polls open/close) 7 a.m. to 8 p.m.

The deadline to add more props to this general election is March 4, 2024.

Other Helpful Information

SAMPLE BALLOTS: You can view sample ballots online at geauxvote.com or on your smart device on the GEAUX VOTE app when they become available.  The Registrar of Voters will have sample ballots posted for viewing as well once they become available. 

CURRENT REGISTRATION STATUS: Get the GEAUX VOTE app for your smart device and you will have your CURRENT REGISTRATION information and polling location in the palm of your hand or come to the Registrar of Voters office to verify your status.  Any change to your registration MUST be done by the registration deadlines above. 

IMPORTANT:  Upon entering to vote, voters should be fully prepared to vote and ready to provide picture identification. 

MAIL BALLOT REQUESTS: There are many reasons that a voter may qualify for a mail ballot.  You can view these online at geauxvote.com

Notes from the Registrar:

  • In December 2023, 7 precincts were merged with a neighboring precinct and those voters were mailed new voter ID cards to inform them of the change.  In addition, 7 more precincts were consolidated with nearby precincts in accordance with law.  All voters affected were
  • mailed new voter ID cards.  
  • Voters can always check geauxvote.com to confirm registration and precinct location. 
  • If you are a mail ballot voter, you MUST complete all parts of the affidavit envelope to comply with law.  Please make sure you complete the Mother’s Maiden Name box in addition to all other boxes on the affidavit to ensure your vote will count.  
  • See flier below explaining who is eligible to vote in the March election. Voters have until the registration deadline (Feb. 21 or March 2) to change their party or make any other changes to their registration.
