NWS Short-Term Hazardous Weather Update - February 3, 2024 - 5:45PM

Here is an update concerning the ongoing heavy rain and gusty winds thru this evening into tonight, 

Changes since Morning Update:

  • A Wind Advisory is now in effect for coastal areas thru Midnight.
  • The Gale Warning has been expanded west to include all Gulf waters. 

Overview:

  • Ongoing axis of heavy rain persisting across the Southshore to northshore locations, delivering 1 to 3" rain rates. A Flood Advisory is in effect for portions of the Southshore until 8PM, and will be monitoring for any additional flooding potential thru the evening.
  • Additionally, gusty winds persist, with strongest winds primarily along the coast. A Wind Advisory is in effect for coastal areas.
  • The back edge of the precipitation shield is approaching from the west, but we will be keeping a close eye on the potential for another round of strong, gusty winds on the back side as most areas dry out overnight tonight into early Sunday.
