Parish Officials Monitoring Conditions In Gulf Of Mexico

Terrebonne Parish Consolidated Government officials continue to monitor conditions in the Gulf of Mexico as a result of Tropical Storm Debby. As of 4:00 p.m. today the National Weather Service has issued a Tropical Storm Warning for Terrebonne Parish. Low lying coastal areas of the parish may experience flooding as tide levels are expected to be 2 to 3 feet above normal. Parish officials will continue to monitor conditions and will have sand and sandbags available by noon on Sunday at the following locations: Pointe-aux-Chenes Fire Station, Montegut Fire Station, Ward 7 Center, Grand Caillou Fire Station, Upper Bayou Dularge Fire Station, Lower Bayou Dularge Fire Station, Gibson East Fire Station, and the Eastside baseball complex located on the airbase. Residents are encouraged to remain vigilant to conditions over the remainder of the weekend and to closely follow media advisories for the latest information. # # #
