Nicholls State University will host the sixth annual Louisiana Swamp Stomp Festival, a musical celebration of south Louisiana culture, Friday, March 21, through Sunday, March 23 on its campus in Thibodaux, LA.
The festival has been named one of March’s “Top 20 events in the Southeast” by the Southeast Tourism Society.
Visitors are invited to experience south Louisiana’s unique Cajun, Zydeco and Swamp Pop music, a variety of regional foods and presentations on local history, culture and economic development. Top cooks will perfect their roux at the annual Jumbo Gumbo Cook-Off Saturday, March 22. And you can burn off that gumbo at the annual 5K Can-Can and 1 Mile White Boot Waddle walk/run. There’s also a carnival, arts and crafts fair, and the Tresors du Bayou Educational Program, a popular attraction for thousands of primary and secondary school students.

These meetings are one of many efforts to outreach with and inform residents of projects and improvements taking place in Terrebonne Parish. Topics covered during these meeting include progress reports on: hurricane protection, roadway improvements, drainage, and upgrades to the recreation and quality of life offerings in Terrebonne. Each meeting will have a detailed presentation tailored to the particular location. Following each presentation will be a question and answer session.
