Wetlands Youth Summit 2017 9:30 am - 2:00 pm

Description: The Wetlands Discovery Center will host the 2017 Wetlands Youth Summit on Saturday, September 9, 2017 from 9:30 am to 2:00 pm. Registration is free for any high school or college student. Breakfast and lunch will be provided for all participants during the summit. Registration forms must be submitted by September 8, 2017.

Proceeds from the Downtown Fall Festival will benefit local music programs for the purchase and repair of musical instruments.

Organization: Keep Terrebonne Beautiful
Description: Keep Terrebonne Beautiful has successfully competed for a grant from Keep America Beautiful and Lowe’s to develop a community garden. This community garden is proposed to be located in Montegut on Kennedy Street. The preliminary plan in the grant assumed that Louisiana Sweet oranges, satsumas, figs, lemons and pecans would be planted on a portion of the site. The rest would be dedicated to vegetables. The meeting is being held to recruit volunteers and get involvement from local community members in the development of the garden. Come help design the garden!
