The Louisiana Department of Insurance has opened lottery registration for the Louisiana Fortify Homes Program Grants today. Registration will close at 5 PM on Friday, September 20th.

While previous grant rounds operated on a first-come, first-served basis, this and future rounds will use a lottery system. The Louisiana Fortify Homes Program provides grants of up to $10,000 for homeowners to upgrade their roofs to the Insurance Institute for Business & Home Safety's FORTIFIED Roof Standard. This standard strengthens homes against severe storms, high winds, and wind-driven rain, and will help improve the insurance market in our area.  

*To participate in the lottery, homeowners must register this week. Please note that homeowners who attempted to apply during a previous round of grants but were not selected will need to register again for this round.
