Head Start Accepting Applications Beginning February 1, 2018

The Terrebonne Parish Consolidated Government Head Start Program will begin accepting applications on February 1, 2018 for children from low-income families for the 2018-2019 school session. Children must be three years old by September 30, 2018 to be eligible. Parents of children with severe disabilities are encouraged to apply. Children do not have to be potty trained. There is no fee for Head Start services.
Parents are responsible for providing transportation to/from school. Parents must provide with following documents along with their child's application:
Proof of income (2 check stubs, current food stamp printout, previous year tax return, child support order, SSI award letters, unemployment compensation printout)
Child's birth certificate
Child's updated immunization record
Child's social security card
Parent's driver's license/ID and social security card
Child's Medicaid card or insurance card
Proof of residency (utility bill, lease agreement)
Court order of guardianship of child, if applicable
Child's evaluation or I.E.P., if applicable
The Terrebonne Parish Head Start Program does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, national origin, sex, or disabilities. Parents can apply at the Department of Housing and Human Services location at 809 Barrow Street in Houma or at any Head Start classroom.
