The Nuisance Abatement Division is dedicated to providing efficient quality services to enhance the quality of life in Terrebonne Parish, by fairly and equally enforcing Parish codes to ensure the health, safety and welfare of our community.
Keeping Terrebonne Parish beautiful is the responsibility of every citizen, young and old. It is the responsibility that goes beyond basic ordinance requirements, reaching instead to higher community standards that will increase the livability of our neighborhoods. This information has been developed to assist citizens in identifying some of their property maintenance responsibilities, and when to report violations.
On September 26, 2001, the Terrebonne Parish Council adopted ordinance number 6492 consolidating various administrative provisions concerning the abatement of nuisances into one standard provision to facilitate uniform enforcement for the greater benefit of the citizens of Terrebonne Parish. These regulations are known, cited and referred to as the Nuisance Abatement Ordinance, Chapter 14 of the Terrebonne Parish code.
