Description: The Friends of the Terrebonne Public Library will host their annual Spelling Bee Saturday, November 2, at the Main Library (151 Library Drive). Grade level and all-age competitions will have prizes for winners in each category and a supporting competitive environment for all. Participants can sign up 30 minutes before their level competes on the the day of the event: Level 1 (Grades 1–2) $2 (9:30 AM) Level 2 (Grades 3–4) $2 (11:00 AM) Level 3 (Grades 5–6) $2 (1:00 PM) Open Competition (All ages) $3 (2:00 PM) Proceeds from the Annual Spelling Bee will go towards the Friends of the Terrebonne Public Library to help provide high quality programming for the community. School-aged children are encouraged to participate for an interactive learning experience, and adults can compete in our open competition at 2 pm. The Friends of the Terrebonne Public Library aim to help to obtain high-quality programs for children and adults and to make the library more visible in the community.

Kids will love the petting zoo, face painting, and sand art, while live music by Southern Drifters adds to the festive atmosphere. Don’t miss the Cajun Food Court, which offers delicious options like jambalaya, crawfish pies, po’boys, and beignets. Admission is $5.00, and kids under 12 enter for free. All proceeds benefit the Terrebonne Historical & Cultural Society and Southdown Plantation & Museum.
