Tunnel to Close from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Apr. 30 & May 1
The Houma Tunnel crossing the Intracoastal Canal Waterway (ICWW) on LA 3040 in Houma, LA will be closed to vehicular traffic from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, April 30, 2019, and Wednesday, May 1, 2019.
This closure is needed in order to allow LADOTD’s inspection personnel to perform a comprehensive inspection of the entire tunnel, which includes structural, electrical, and mechanical components.
Alternate routes available for crossing the ICWW are:
- LA 24/LA 659 (Twin Span Bridge)
- LA 315 (Dularge Bridge)
