South Louisiana Veteran Outreach Hosts Gumbo Cookoff Sat., Nov 23
The South Louisiana Veteran Outreach will host its inaugural Help Our Heroes Gumbo Cookoff at 12 p.m. on Saturday, November 23, 2019, at the Houma Courthouse Square.
This family-friendly event will feature live music, auctions, raffles, kids' activities, drinks, and all you can eat gumbo. Admission is $10 for adults and $5 for kids ages 4-12.
The purpose of this event is to bring awareness of the battles local Veterans encounter after their military service.
It is $125 to participate in the cookoff with no more than 4 people per team. Cash prizes will be awarded to 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place, with an added award for People's Choice. Event registration opens at 6 a.m. with pots on at 8 a.m.
