Terrebonne Fine Arts Guild Named Karen Kelly Artist of the Month for September
Artist Karen Kelly was named Artist of the Month for September for the Terrebonne Fine Arts Guild.
Karen describes her painting style as "impressionistic but at other times totally abstract with a side trip to realism." These styles intermingle often to make a very exciting expression of subject, point-of-view, and mood of the moment. She enjoys pushing paint and paper into new directions to see what happens. The goal is to enjoy the journey into creativity.
Karen is an art instructor and has taught workshops locally and throughout the area. She maintains a home studio where she continues to teach. She began as an oil painter, then studied watercolor. She has since become proficient in pastels, which has become her go-to medium. Her subjects range from still-life to floral and landscapes.
