Local Champions Shine at Houma Elks Hoop Shoot
The Houma Elks Lodge #1193 hosted its annual Hoop Shoot Free Throw Contest on Saturday, February 8, 2025, at Houma First United Methodist Church, where young athletes showcased their skills and determination in a thrilling competition.
The Elks Hoop Shoot is a nationwide free-throw contest that teaches youth ages 8-13 the value of hard work, perseverance, and sportsmanship. Participants compete in their respective age divisions to advance to the next round.
After an intense showdown at the free-throw line, four local champions emerged and are now moving on to the next level of competition:
🏀 8-9 Boys: Jackson Eschete
🏀 10-11 Boys: Zander Collinson
🏀 12-13 Boys: Declan Fremin
🏀 12-13 Girls: Emma Falgout
These talented young shooters will now represent Houma Elks Lodge #1193 at the Louisiana Elks Association State Hoop Shoot Contest on Saturday, February 22, 2025, at Westminster Christian Academy (186 Westminster Drive, Opelousas, LA).
The Elks Hoop Shoot is more than just a competition—it’s an opportunity for youth to develop confidence, discipline, and a winning mindset. Winners at the state level will move on to the Regional and National Finals, held in Chicago, Illinois, where they’ll compete for the title of National Hoop Shoot Champion!
The Houma Elks Lodge #1193 congratulates all participants and thanks the volunteers, parents, and supporters who made this event successful.
