Six Year Old Seeks Help From Parish
Six year old Sydney Hotard, a student at Messiah Montessori School in Houma, wrote a letter to Parish President, Michel H. Claudet, asking for assistance to remedy several things at the Playground that she frequents near her home.
Her request was processed just like any other request received. The Terrebonne Director of TPR, Sterling Washington, had his staff sand the slide to make it “more slippery”, as the complainant requested. Mr. Washington also fixed the electrical panel and ordered a new, less “dangerus” sign as requested by Sydney Hotard.
Michel H. Claudet, Parish President, not only sent a letter of appreciation to this young citizen, but he gave her special recognition at the annual School Christmas Play. As Mr. Claudet stated “it is encouraging to see that we have citizens, even as young as Sydney, who want to work with the parish government in helping to keep our community safe. “
