WHAT WE DO
The purpose of the Commission shall be to guide and coordinate the total development of Terrebonne Parish by examining the parish as a whole, through the following:
- elevation of population characteristics
- economy
- natural resources
- land uses
- transportation system(s)
- public facilities
- utilities
- services
The Commission also serves to monitor special needs and problems, both physical and social, and controls the development of Terrebonne Parish to the extent that these needs and problems are properly addressed to insure the health, safety, and welfare of all its citizens.
WHO WE ARE
General Information
The Houma-Terrebonne Regional Planning Commission meets on the third Thursday of every month at 6:00 p.m. in the Terrebonne Parish Council Meeting Room. The meeting room is located in the Government Tower, 8026 Main Street, on the 2nd floor. The Commission convenes first as the Zoning and Land Use Commission and convenes as the Regional Planning Commission immediately following. The deadline for placing items on the agenda is generally seventeen (17) days prior to the meeting date.
