Starting a business can be a very tedious task requiring approval from the Department of Planning and Zoning, the Sales Tax Office, and Secretary of State. • Print the application and fully complete it.
• Mail the completed application and payment (if applicable). Make checks payable to Parish Sales Tax Fund.

Additional Requirements:

• If the business is a corporation, LLC, or LLP, the organization must be in good standing with the LA Secretary of State.
• If the business is located in the unincorporated area of Terrebonne Parish, a zoning clearance issued by the Terrebonne Parish Department of Inspection and Code Enforcement must be obtained. For assistance, please call (985)-873-6793.
• Occupational License - In addition to the requirements for sales tax purposes, all businesses having a physical location in Terrebonne Parish are required to obtain an occupational license and shall be renewed annually. More information can be found in Occupational License section.
• Beer/Liquor License - If your business intends to serve or sell alcohol, it will require a Beer/Liquor License from Terrebonne Parish Bill Paying and Licensing Office.
